Sustainability
At Aperio we recognise the importance of developing sustainable manufacturing processes and products. To prepare our operations for tomorrow’s world we monitor and actively reduce the resources we utilise, and also ensure that the packaging we produce has a minimal environmental impact.
Minimisation Program
When it comes to carbon emissions and pollution Aperio not only complies with the appropriate standards but strives to exceed their targets. Our multi-faceted minimisation program engages the entire business and includes:
- Minimising energy consumption
- Minimising air emissions, particularly VOCs & CO2
- Minimising waste
- Minimising water consumption
Long-term Product Viability
It is important that we complement our process goals with a parallel approach to products. We endeavour to create packaging that requires the minimum of materials, and impacts on the environment the least over the life of the product. Our sustainable packaging strategy focuses on four main objectives:
- Utilise materials that are safe for all whole-of-life scenarios
- Maximise package efficiency
- Maximise use of renewable and recycled materials
- Design for recycling or composting where practical
